Give Senior Squad cards to everyone on your sports teams! Make sure whoever you referred, presents the Senior Squad card for $20 OFF their senior session and so I can keep tally of how many referrals you have earned. Announcing 2019 Storybook Seniors #storybookseniors19

It's time! Class of 2019 Storybook Seniors Announcement!

I am so excited to announce my Senior Squad, aka Storybook Seniors, for the 2018-19 school year. Let me tell you, the class of 2019 blew me away with some incredible applications for the squad program. Each applicant was amazing, however, I digress, I had to narrow the applicants down and it was a tough choice. A huge thank-you to all who applied; truly, it was a hard choice. I narrowed it down to seven AMAZING ladies (Guys, where were you this year?). If you know one of these amazing ladies, make sure you contact them for a referral card, which will have a little something for you and a special gift for them.

So, with a drumroll ...let me introduce to you the official Storybook Seniors of 2019.

A Christmas Homecoming by Storybook Moments- Mexico, Mo Photographer

I'll confess, I love military homecomings so much. I will admit that I cry every single time I watch them. I've never had the opportunity to photograph one before, but I have many photographer friends who are military spouses and I've definately seen my share of homecomings. I love each and every single one of them.

A few couple ago, my friend, Jeanice, and I started talking about taking eachother's family photos; a gift to our parents for the upcoming Holidays. She had mentioned the possibility of bringing her brother, Bradley, home from Florida where he is based. Of course, at this time it was just that, a possibility.

Kristina and David Romaker last seen their son, Bradley, briefly in May just after he had returned from a 24 month deployment in Japan. He then returned to Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa where he was to stay until his deployment in December. Family didn't expect to see him again until Christmas of 2018.

Then that possibility became a reality. Bradley was coming home! The plan was in full force. Jeanice used her last $80 for the week to fly her brother home, she told few family members hoping the surprise would stay a secret. Her and her mother tossed the idea around of face timing Bradley during the session. Little did Kristina know she was in for the surprise of a lifetime (after telling Jeanice just the week before how bad she is at keeping secrets haha).

When the day came, Bradley hid down a hill behind some concrete blocks while we had started photos of just his parents together. After a few shots ( and a little stalling) he came creeping up from behind them. I had been imagining this for a few days now and of course a few thoughts were running through my mind: Would his mom cry? Would she scream? Would she be speechless? Not to my surprise she was a little of everything and I think everyone else attending was a little teary eyed as well.

I asked Jeanice if she wanted to comment on why this was a special moment to her (aside from obvious reasons, of course.)

"My family has experienced so much loss in the 3 and a half years Bradley has been in the Air Force and it’s been extra painful to have him so far from home. I thought, maybe, just maybe, if I could get him home then we could have a little piece of happiness for a while. I was nervous & excited and just ready to get everyone together and make it happen. I kept thinking that if anything could make their day, or their year – it’d be seeing Bradley one last time before he leaves for deployment. I tear up thinking about their reaction & re-watching the video repeatedly – I think that for once, I gave the BEST gift this year."

Being part of such a beautiful surprise was truly touching. Helping reunite this family, who had been so strong and missed their son and brother so much, was the biggest blessing. Truly, what an honor.

Welcome Home Bradley! Thank you for your service and sacrifice!

Styled Wedding Inspiration Shoot

Storybook Moments Photography and Megh Christine Photography teamed up to bring our brides a day that exuded romantic and bohemian like earthy elements. Pastel Pallets, cascading florals, lovely lace, and a scrumptious naked cake with artfully decorated cookies that will have you looking for reasons to spread the love all year round.

There is something romantic about the countryside. Perhaps its the mystery that lies within or the natural beauty that surrounds you as you find yourself near the deep blue lake or the dense trees. Glenn Acres Farm is a gorgeous setting and inspiration for this shoot. It is a historical horse farm, full of rustic elegance, that sits just off the highway outside of Columbia, Missouri.

From unique tabletop decor to stylish linens, A1 Party & Event Rental had it all. The farmhouse table was pulled together so elegantly with their rose gold table settings and lace runner. The Jupiter glasses were a personal favorite. The Agate slices, which serve as placards for attendees, are all hand lettered in gold paint. These really tied together our entire table presentation.
